The lawyers at B&A have a collective 40+ years of legal experience. Some lawyers are known for large mahogany desks, working long hours, preparing elaborate billing statements, and giving complicated “it depends” answers. The lawyers at B&A, on the other hand, focus on collaboration, flexibility, and innovation. For instance, at B&A, litigation matters begin with an easy-to-follow case roadmap and a sensible budget. Bev’s outside service to the legal profession focuses on developing programming to bridge the gender wage gap, enhance equality, and to build meaningful inclusion opportunities for diverse and female attorneys in the practice of law. When faced with the opportunity to build her own law practice, Bev took the plunge, knowing that having more women entrepreneurs – especially in the legal field – is helpful in and of itself when it comes to boosting the success of other women and minorities. Reputable studies show that enhanced diversity in leadership means improved problem solving, effective collaboration, and decisive outcomes. Indeed, companies that perform best financially have the largest number of women in leadership roles.
In addition to running a successful law practice responsive to her clients’ needs, Bev endeavors to employ, mentor and support women and diverse attorneys in an entrepreneurial, yet comfortable environment, with the knowledge that recruiting and promoting women will drive strong performance. An important aspect of Block & Associates’ platform includes working with other female and minority-owned businesses for the firm’s outside vendor needs.
